Averi Lane would be a senior at Gainesville High School this year, had she not lost a long battle with cancer in April. In her memory, GHS teachers and students will hold a blood drive from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday at the school. “She knew the importance of blood donation and what it meant,” said Kristi Smith, Lane’s mother.
