Two Hall County men are accused of using a gun and baseball bat to threaten a man and then take his cellphone and other items, authorities said.
Thomas Lee Seabolt, 23, from Lula, and Jimmy Lloyd Moss, 27, from Cleveland, were arrested and charged with an armed robbery that allegedly took place Aug. 23 on Wheeler Road in Lula.
Codey Shoemake told the Hall County Sheriff’s Office that Seabolt pointed a gun at him while a second unknown man “threatened him with a baseball bat,” according to Hall County Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman Deputy Nicole Bailes.
According to the warrants, Seabolt allegedly “pulled a gun on Shoemake and told Shoemake to empty his pockets.” Seabolt also allegedly assaulted Shoemake with a handgun and fired the gun at him, according to the warrants.
“The suspects took the victim’s cellphone and several other items of value,” Bailes wrote in a news release.
Shoemake’s hat was also taken, according to the warrants.
The victim was not injured, and sheriff’s office investigators later identified the second suspect as Moss.
The White County Sheriff’s Office collaborated with the Hall County Sheriff’s Office on finding the two suspects. Moss was found Wednesday near Oliver Road and Winder Highway.
“Mr. Moss was given multiple verbal commands to stop but failed to do so,” according to the warrant, claiming Moss fled on foot.
The search “lasted throughout the night and included the use of K-9 deputies,” Bailes wrote.
Deputies reported they later found him coming from the river near Union Church Road and Old Winder Highway, as one deputy “observed him coming out from the wood line,” Bailes wrote.
Seabolt turned himself in to authorities, Bailes wrote.
Seabolt also faces a charge of aggravated assault, and Moss was accused of obstruction of an officer.
Both men were booked in to the Hall County Jail, where they are being held with no bond.
