Dorothy Dudley Nix and Brandon Taylor Davis were united in marriage at 6:30 p.m. August 7, 2007, at the Haig Point Lighthouse on Daufuskie Island, S.C. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Kenneth Nix of Gainesville. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Ronald William Davis of Franklin, Tenn.

The Rev. John H. Cribb performed the ceremony. Arline Rosen presented a program of wedding music.

The bride was presented in marriage by her father. The bride’s sister Callie Nix Feild was matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Tybee Elizabeth Halter, Lauren Womack Milmine, Katherine Elizabeth Nix, Susan Burns Walker and Kristen Nix Young. The bride’s cousin Elizabeth Dudley Watson was the junior bridesmaid. Honorary bridesmaids were Lindsay Danielle Chandler, Emily Mitchell England and Emily McCue Willard.

The groom’s father and brother Justin William Davis were the best men. Groomsmen were Kevin Michael Beas, John Mathew England, John Frederick Hunter, Philip Russell Homes, John Kenneth Nix Jr., Ryan Blair Stillwell, James Stewart Scott IV and Mathew Chandler Trimble. The bride’s nephew David Maxwell Feild Jr. and the groom’s nephew Parker William Davis were ring bearers. Readers were Melissa Diane Hunter and Nathan Allan Way.

The bride wore a family heirloom veil made of Brussels lace that was worn by her mother, two aunts, sister and several cousins.

The groom’s parents gave a rehearsal dinner at Marshside Mamas on Daufuskie Island on the eve of the wedding.

The bride’s parents gave a reception at the Haig Point Country Club on Daufuskie Island following the ceremony.

The couple celebrated with a wedding trip to St. Lucia in the Caribbean. The couple resides in Nashville, Tenn.
