Addie Marie Cheramie and Philip Arthur Wilheit Jr. were united in marriage at 1 p.m. Nov. 10, 2007, at St. Louis Cathedral in New Orleans. The bride is the daughter of Edmond Anthony and Miriam T. Cheramie of Cut Off, La. The groom is the son of Philip Arthur and Mary Hart Wilheit of Gainesville.

The Rev. Dean Danos performed the ceremony. Pianist Michele Starns, vocalist Kathryn Claverie and saxophonist Mark Rybiski presented a program of wedding music.

The bride was presented in marriage by her father. The bride’s sisters Erin C. Walker of Cut Off and Denise C. Ruggiero of Danbury, Conn., were matrons of honor. Bridesmaids were the bride’s cousins Jeanne C. Saba of Baton Rouge, La., Megan A. Ordoyne of Thibodaux, La., and the bride’s friend Darla Kiffe of Thibodaux. The groom’s nieces Mary Keys Payne and Elizabeth Payne of Gainesville were the flower girls.

The groom’s father was the best man. Benjamin Morens, of Fayetteville, NC., who was serving in Afghanistan at the time of the wedding, was the honorary best man. Groomsmen were the groom’s friends Jeff Propps of St. Cloud, Fla., Ryan McWaters of Franklin, Tenn., and Eddie Hoosh and Todd Jones, both of Atlanta. The bride’s cousin Quentin Saba of Baton Rouge was the ring bearer. Ushers were the groom’s friends Marshall Melvin of Atlanta and Adam McCall of Buford. Tommy Thomassie III, Hart Payne, Anna Thomassie, Alissa Switzer, Rusti Ayo Gonzales and Maria Thomassie assisted.

The bride carried a crystal rosary from her confirmation, a handkerchief from her great-grandmother and a diamond pendant custom designed and given to her by the groom.

The groom’s parents gave a rehearsal dinner at Muriel’s in Jackson Square, New Orleans on the eve of the wedding.

The bride’s and groom’s parents gave a reception at Pat’s on the River in New Orleans following the ceremony

Following a wedding trip to Papagayo, Costa Rica, the couple resides in Atlanta.
