Gainesville Mayor Myrtle Figueras recently signed a proclamation presented by the Col. William Candler Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution designating the week of Sept. 17-23, as Constitution Week in observance of the 222nd anniversary of the signing of the U.S. Constitution, which occurred on Sept. 17, 1787.
