Flowery Branch High School graduate commissioned as second lieutenant

Graduating cadets were awarded commissions as second lieutenants in the U.S. Army or Georgia National Guard on May 10-11, at the University of North Georgia.

Jared M. Crandall earned a bachelor’s degree and was commissioned into field artillery. He is the husband of Delana Crandall, and the son of Merlin and Debbie Crandall of Flowery Branch and graduated from Flowery Branch High School in 2009.

UNG is one of only six senior military colleges in the nation. Participation in the Corps of Cadets, also known as the Boar’s Head Brigade, offers the opportunity to acquire a degree in a chosen field of study while earning an officer’s commission in the U.S. Army, either active-duty, Guard or Reserve.
