Costumed youngsters and their parents visit the square in downtown Gainesville Friday, Oct. 31, 2025, for the annual Trick or Treat on the Square where downtown merchants hand out candy in celebration of Halloween. In addition to all the free candy there is a costume contest for different age categories.
