Mr. and Mrs. Michael Weaver of Gainesville announce the engagement of their daughter Miss Mary Katherine Weaver to Mr. Scotty Ryan Hall, son of Mr. and Mrs. Joel Hall of Gainesville.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Strong Jr. of Gainesville and Mr. and Mrs. Marlin Weaver of Cedartown.

She is a 2005 graduate of North Hall High School in Gainesville. She is pursuing a bachelor's degree from the University of Georgia in Athens in child and family development and plans to attend the University of Georgia School of Law in the fall.

The groom-elect is the grandson of Mrs. Bernice Waters of Gainesville, the late Mr. Huey Waters and Mr. and Mrs. Robert Hall of Duluth.

He is a 2003 graduate of North Hall High School in Gainesville. He is pursuing a bachelor's degree from the University of Georgia in Athens in landscape architecture. He is employed as a landscape architect with Garden South Landscape and Design in Athens.

The couple plan to wed May 16, 2009, at First Baptist Church in Gainesville.
