Chris and Cathy Rylee Pope of Gainesville announce the engagement of their daughter Michelle Christina Pope to James Daniel Stainback, son of James and Debbie Stainback of Roswell.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of the late George and Carolyn Rylee, and Lonnie and Sue Pope of Gainesville.

She is a 2009 graduate of East Hall High School in Gainesville. She graduated in 2013 from the University of North Georgia in Dahlonega with a degree in middle grades education. She is employed as a math teacher at Riverview Middle School in Dawsonville.

The groom-elect is the grandson of Juanell and Sandy Woford of Charlotte, N.C., and Bill Stainback of Raleigh, N.C., and the late Loraine Stainback.

He is a 2010 graduate of Centennial High School in Roswell. He graduated in 2014 from the University of North Georgia in Dahlonega with a degree in history education. He is employed as a special education paraprofessional at East Hall High School in Gainesville.

The couple plan to wed June 13, 2015, at First Baptist Church in Gainesville.
