Mr. and Mrs. John Reid Moore of Gainesville announce the engagement of their daughter Miss Jennifer Bayless Moore to Mr. James William Smith, son of Mr. and Mrs. David Emerson Smith of Augusta.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Mrs. William Shwab of Gainesville, the late Mr. William Shwab, Mrs. Harrison Shoulders of Nashville, Tenn., the late Dr. Harrison Shoulders, Dr. and Dr. John Moore of Chapel Hill, N.C., and the late Mrs. Natalie Moore. She is a 2000 graduate of Gainesville High School in Gainesville. She graduated in 2005 from Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta with a bachelor’s degree in building construction management. She is employed as a director of property, design and construction at MCG Health Inc., in Augusta.

The groom-elect is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. James Calvin Smith and Mr. and Mrs. Haynes Arlon Southall, all of Augusta.

He is a 1999 graduate of Academy of Richmond County High School in Augusta. He attended Clemson University, in Clemson, S.C. He is employed as a project manager at Gold Mech Inc., in Augusta.

The couple plan to wed Nov. 5, 2011, in Gainesville.
