Challis and Andrew Latta

Miss Challis Elizabeth Farrar and Mr. Andrew Derrick Latta were united in marriage at 6 p.m. Sept. 20, 2008, at Summerville First Baptist Church in Summerville. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Archibald Alexander Farrar Jr. of Summerville. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Gregory Latta of Trion.

The Rev. Kenneth Summey performed the ceremony. Pianist Dr. Jay McNeal and vocalists Miss Rachel Robe and Miss Carrissa Scroggins presented a program of wedding music.

The bride was presented in marriage by her father. The bride's sister Miss Mary Catherine Farrar of Summerville was maid of honor. Bridesmaids were the bride's friends Miss Mary Addison Wolfe of West Point, Miss Leah Alston Mitchum of Duluth and Miss Roxanne Janet Askins of Woodstock; the bride's cousin Miss Emily Allgood Griffin of Rome; and the bride's friends Mrs. Katherine Johnston Robertson of Louisville, Ky., and Miss Nichole Renee Dyer and Mrs. Jenny Turner Hardy, both of Trion. The bride's friend Miss Madelyn Rose Weaver of Summerville was the flower girl.

The groom's brother Mr. Benjamen Kyle Latta of Trion was the best man. Groomsmen were the groom's uncle Mr. Jonathan Grant Latta of Trion, the groom's friends Mr. Andrew Scott Weaver of Summerville, Mr. Jeremy Keith Staton of Trion, Mr. James William Childers of Athens, Mr. Charles Benjamin Ruppersburg of Athens, Mr. Wes Timothy Thompson of Trion and Mr. Jeremy Stephen Holloway of Young Harris.

Ushers were Mr. Alton Brown Owens of Conyers, Mr. Scotty Douglas Fain II of Hiawassee and honorary usher Mr. Kyle Benson David, currently serving in Iraq.

Miss Olivia Sarah Myers and Miss Jennifer Nicole Cannon kept the bride's book.

The groom's parents gave a rehearsal dinner at Margretta Hall in Rome on the eve of the wedding.

The bride's parents gave a reception at Coosa Country Club in Rome following the ceremony.

Following a wedding trip to Grand Cayman in the Cayman Islands, the couple reside in Gainesville.
