When the beginning of a new month rolled around Sunday, that meant one thing — time to head downtown for First Friday. The monthly event is held from 5 to 10 p.m. on the first Friday of each month from May through September on the historic square in downtown Gainesville. First Friday is presented by Main Street Gainesville, an organization that is focused on improving the quality of life for city residents and visitors.
