The Quinlan Visual Arts Center will have its first Family Day from 1-4 p.m. Saturday, May 11, at 514 Green St. NE in Gainesville. Packed with art activities for all ages, the free event will include a self-guided art scavenger hunt, drawing from a live model or the chance to make your own funny "wrong-handed" family portrait. In the ceramics studio, participants have a chance get their hands dirty and make one-of-a-kind pottery owls during live wheel demonstrations.
