The Arts Council launches its Peace Series with Stringfever at 8 p.m. Feb. 10 at Brenau University's Pearce Auditorium.

Stringfever is the Broadbent family quartet, which includes Giles, Ralph and Neal, plus Cousin Graham. They plays five- and six-stringed violins, a viola and cello, all electric.

Classically trained musicians, the British group will show its roots with performances of classical pieces, but that's only part of the show. Picture Ravel's "Bolero" played by four pairs of hands on one instrument, or a horizontal performance of Hungarian dance.

In addition, dozens of TV signature tunes and movie themes will speed past, including a compilation of James Bond themes.

The group's standard finale is a compilation called "The History of Music ... in 5 Minutes," taking the audience on a frantic musical tour that goes from classical to rock.

Other performers in the series include singer Livingston Taylor, brother of James Taylor, on March 15; and the internationally acclaimed Atlanta Symphony Orchestra, with the date to be announced.

Tickets are $30 for adults, $28 for seniors (65 and older) and $27 for students. Series tickets are $80. For more information on each performance and ticket sales, call 770-534-2787 or visit www.TheArtsCouncil.net.
