Sautee Nachoochee Chorale offers holiday concert

The Sautee Nacoochee Community Chorale will perform its annual holiday concert at 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 2 p.m. Sunday at the intersection of  283 Ga. 255, Sautee Nacoochee.The 50-member chorale has been rehearsing for the concert since the end of August.

The chorale will have some new pieces to put you in the holiday spirit beginning with Christina Rossetti’s poem "In the Bleak Midwinter," followed with "Count Your Blessings Instead of Sheep" (from White Christmas), "Christmas Island" (recorded by the Andrews Sisters and Guy Lombardo), and a medley of German Christmas carols accompanied by a handchime choir.

Come to the Sautee Nacoochee Center early and enjoy a special art exhibit featuring the work of both students and teachers of the SNCA Art Studio.

Tickets for the concert are $8 for SNCA members, $14 for non-members, and children younger than 17 are $4.

The Saturday performance will be preceded by a community dinner at 5:30 p.m. served in the Community Hall.

The cost of the meal, which will include roasted pork loin with cranberry dressing, green bean almondine and pecan pie, will be $12. Coffee and iced tea will be served.
