Sautee center teaches precision oil painting

Learning the intricacies of oil painting is the purpose of a weekly adult oil painting class, which begins is next four-week session this month at Sautee Nacoochee Center.

The ongoing oil painting covers all aspects of oil painting, including the use of materials and media; analysis; and use of composition, detail, value and color.

Some experience is preferred but beginners are welcome. The minimum number of students is five with a maximum of 10.

The upcoming class with instructor Mary Ellen Rand will begin Jan. 23 and end Feb. 13. Registration deadline is Monday, Jan. 5.

Class times are 2:30-5:30 Jan. 23 and 30 and Feb. 13. Class time on Feb. 6 is 9 a.m. to noon. All classes are inside the art studio at the Sautee Nacoochee Community Association Center at 283 Ga. 255 in Sautee Nacoochee.

A list of materials is available from instructor prior to first class. The cost is $140 for a total of four classes.
