Challenged Child & Friends will have its 22nd annual 5-kilometer run and 1-mile fun run Sunday.

The fun run starts at 2 p.m. with the 5K starting 30 minutes later at Riverside Military Academy, 2001 Riverside Drive, in Gainesville. The route will start at the school, wind through area neighborhoods and end at the school.

The race is a Peachtree Road Race qualifier.

The registration fee is $30 for individuals and $25 for team members. Awards for different age groups will be handed out while all runners and walkers will receive a free T-shirt.

The race is one of Challenged Child’s major fundraisers. Proceeds directly benefit the organization’s children and the programs. Challenged Child offers a tailored and integrated experience where children with a variety of developmental delays and disabilities learn and grow in a full inclusion program with children who have typical development, according to its website, www.challengedchild.org.
