The Lake Lanier Rowing Club is offering a Juniors Introduction to Rowing Class in an effort to get more young people involved in the sport.

The classes, which began Nov. 19, take place on Saturday mornings from 10 a.m. until noon. Dates and times for December have not yet been announced.

These introductory classes are offered at no charge, and take place at the Boat House at Lake Lanier Rowing Venue, 3105 Clarks Bridge Road in Gainesville.

"The Lake Lanier Rowing Club is revitalizing our juniors program and honoring our mission of continuing the spirit of the 1996 Olympic Games ..." the club said in a statement.

"This is a great opportunity for young people to be introduced to rowing, meet new people and get excellent exercise"
