Running a 5-kilometer race takes practice and endurance. But the upcoming race at Riverside Military Academy will take more than what usual runners experience.

While runners will jog across roads, through breezeways and over trails, they will also face elevation changes and a terrain mix of dirt, sand and rock. And runners will face all of this while dodging obstacles such as a trebuchet, fencers and fireworks.

The second annual Attack The Castle 5K/10K and 1-mile fun run adventure race begin with registration at 8 a.m. followed by the race at 9 a.m. Saturday, March 18.

Registration costs $35 for 5-kilometer race individuals, $30 for teams of four or more on the 5K, $40 for 10K race individuals, $35 for 10K teams of four or more and $20 for the fun run. Each race participant will receive a dri-fit T-shirt and an official race water bottle, as well as a goodie bag.
