Their journey and research led to the play, “The Exonerated.” The Riverside’s Fine Arts Department will present the free production at 7 p.m. Oct. 19 and 20 and 3 p.m. Oct. 22 in the Cervantes Theatre for the Arts, 2001 Riverside Drive, in Gainesville.

“The Exonerated” focuses on five of the exonerated Americans as they recount their arrests and trials. It also reveals shocking and disturbing events from their time on death row as well as coming to terms with their newfound freedom.

Riverside English and drama teacher Mike Smith is the director. The cast stars Riverside cadets Devyn Driscoll, James Hart, Demarko Hooper, Phillip Middleton, Brandon Oliveira, Drake Roberts, Mitchell Rodriguez and Scott Rosenkampff.
