As Riverside Military Academy cadets ready themselves for a new year, they do not plan to forget the past.

The cadets will host Jordan’s Run for Riverside in remembrance of former cadet, Sgt. Jordan Savage, who died last year from complications of Lupus.

The 5-kilometer run, walk and fun run will raise funds for scholarships for Riverside cadets.

The race will begin at 8 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 9, at 2001 Riverside Drive, in Gainesville.

Entry fees are $35 on the day of the race. Families may run for a fee of $79. The fun run cost $15.
