To celebrate its 30 years in operation, the Crocker Pottery in Lula will unveil more than 200 pieces of folk potter Saturday, Dec. 13.
Folk potter Michael Crocker will unveil his latest collection straight out of the kiln as part of Crocker Potter Christmas. Crocker uses traditional methods, concepts, tools and designs to create his pieces: using handdug Georgia red clay and straining ashes to make his glazes. Each piece is crafted by hand. Kiln opening forms include decorative items such as whimsical face jugs and more utilitarian items such as kitchenware and jugs. The featured item for this opening are pigs.
The kiln unveiling will be from 1-3 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 13, at 6361 W. County Line Road in Lula. Admission is free.
