Northeast Georgia History Center staff are busy striking up the band in preparation for this weekend's Patriotic Concert.

The concert is set for 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 10 at Riverside Military Academy's Sandy Beaver Auditorium, 2001 Riverside Drive, Gainesville.

This is the second time the center has played host to the concert. This year's event will be dedicated to the memory of Edna Stephens, a Gainesville native who was killed during the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks as she worked in the Pentagon.

Riverside Commandant Lt. Col. Kevin Jarrard will serve as the master of ceremonies for the concert, which will feature local and regional musical acts.

The JazzWinds Band, Voices of North Georgia and the Vintage Vocals are scheduled to perform. The Enota Multiple Intelligences Academy Show Choir also is scheduled, along with Ken Johnston, who will appear as George Washington.

Tickets for the event are $10 for history center members, $15 for nonmembers. They are on sale in advance at the History Center, 322 Academy St. NE, Gainesville. They will also be sold at the door the night of the concert.
