North Georgia residents blast off to outer space

As the summer heats up, residents can cool off in a dark place and become educated about the heavenly bodies orbiting outer space.

The “Journey through the Stars” planetarium participants will explore a different aspect of astronomy through at the Sandy Creek Nature Center.

“Lonely Stars, Planets, and Spacecraft” will occur from 10-11 a.m. Saturday, July 11, at 205 Old Commerce Road. Pre-registration is required one day in advance by calling 706-613-3615.

The program fee is $7 for an Athens-Clarke County family and $10 for a non-Athens-Clarke County family.
