McDaniel Farm offers tours Dec. 16-21 for a different look at the holiday season
1215-GO-FARM-CANDLELIGHT
The McDaniel Family Christmas tree is adorned with popcorn, apples and homemade decorations for the candlelight tours taking place this holiday season.

Escape the hustle and bustle of the holidays and return to a more tranquil time when a brightly lit home full of family and neighbors made for a warm and festive winter’s night.

The Environmental and Heritage Center is offering candlelight tours of McDaniel Farm until Wednesday, Dec. 21, at 3251 McDaniel Road in Duluth.

McDaniel Farm will be aglow with candles and decorated with fresh greenery and period ornaments as costumed guides share customs and traditions from the Victorian period. They will also provide guests with a glimpse of everyday life on a family farm as they become engulfed by the sights, smells and sounds of holidays past.

After the tour, guests will enjoy a delicious cup of hot chocolate or apple cider and have the opportunity to make a holiday craft.

The 1 1/2-hour tour will begin at 7 p.m. and end at 8:30 p.m. Dec. 16, 17, 18, 20 and 21.

Tickets are $8. EHC members and children age 2 and younger are free. Pre-registration is required online at www.gwinnettEHC.org.
