Mark Labor Day with last days of summer party

As summer begins to fade, Sky Valley plans to mark the last days of the hot season with a party.

The Last Days of Summer Celebration will be from 5:30–9:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 5, at the Sky Valley Pavilion, 568 Sky Valley Way, in Sky Valley.

Participants will feast on barbecue and listen to the live sounds of Sweet Charity, which performs classic rock ’n’ roll as well as southern and country rock favorites. A fireworks display will add pops and pows to the evening.

Barbecue tickets are $16 for adults and $12 for children. Music and fireworks are Free.

About six weeks later, the city will host Fallfest.

Festivities will be from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Oct. 17. Arts and crafts and live music on two stages will entertain adults while children’s activities will keep the little ones involved.

Appeasing all ages will be hay rides, waterfall tours, hay bale trail and scarecrow row.

Food vendors will be onsite to fill the stomach of those famished.

Accompanying Fallfest will be a Cruise-In car show. The city is encouraging car owners to bring antiques, classics, hot rods, muscle cars and other unique cars and trucks to the town. No entry fees will be charged.

Free festivities for all ages will be from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
