As horror movies take over the silver screen for the Halloween season, a sci-fi musical pulled from Broadway as well as Hollywood will step into the spotlight at the Holly Theater in downtown Dahlonega.
“Little Shop of Horrors” has devoured the hearts of theatergoers for more than 30 years. The musical centers on meek floral assistant, Seymour Krelborn, who stumbles across a new breed of plant he names “Audrey II” — after his coworker crush. This R&B-singing carnivore promises unending fame and fortune to the down and out Krelborn as long as he keeps feeding it blood.
Over time, Seymour discovers Audrey II’s out of this world origins and intent is toward global domination.
Showtimes for “Little Shop of Horrors” are 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 2 p.m. Sunday. Performances will be Oct. 23-25 and 30 and Nov. 1 and 6-8 at 69 W. Main St. in Dahlonega.
Tickets are $20 for adults and $12 for children and students.
