After a year of success, Left Nut Brewing Co. is ready to celebrate.
The Gainesville-based beer brewery will kick off its one-year anniversary with a “sweat and sip” portion beginning at noon and lasting for an hour Saturday, March 25.
“Sweat and sip is a drum-based workout class,” said Mirva Datta, the merchandise and events manager and wife of Left Nut’s owner Pap Datta.
A $10 entrance fee covers the one-hour class and a complimentary beer.
Afterward, Left Nut’s taproom will open at 1 p.m. for tours.
The brewery is going to have something new on tap for the event.
“We will have special anniversary beer and merchandise out, along with the Fajitas food truck,” Mirva Datta said.
The special beer, a dark bock beer, is traditionally served in Germany at the beginning of spring, she said.
For $15 per person, attendees will receive a souvenir Left Nut glass and 36 ounces of beers and ciders to try.
People of Earth and Tyler Sloan will perform at the event as well.
Zach Hall has been visiting since it opened, usually once or twice a month.
“From trying to get their name approved to making different brews to fill all 19 taps at the brewery, it has been a great accomplishment for them,” Hall said. “It’s something that all beer lovers and the people of the community should be proud of. The people at Left Nut have given their hearts to this entire project.”
His favorite brew is the Mighty Banyan double IPA and the Leaping Lena Red Imperial beer, which is what he usually samples.
