'Heavenly' sounds surround Dahlonega for choir festival

Choirs from across Northeast Georgia will combine their voices for a heavenly festival Feb. 22.

Choral ensembles from Christ the King Lutheran Church in Cumming, Dahlonega United Methodist Church, the University of North Georgia Singers, UNG Le Belle Voci, UNG Patriot Choir and UNG Singers Men will be featured.

The mass choir of 125 vocalists will present “Hark, I hear the harps eternal,” “One Faith, One Hope, One Lord,” “Battle Hymn of the Republic” and “Christ We Do All Adore Thee.”

John Broman, UNG director of choral activities, is the festival director. Mary Beth Hutcheson is the festival accompanist.

The free concert will be at 3 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 22, at Dahlonega United Methodist Church, at 107 Park St., Dahlonega.
