The second annual Color Race for Grace is expanding its reach this year with a race expo the day before the 5-kilometer race and 1-mile walk.

The race expo will be from 5:30-7:30 p.m. Friday, March 28, at the Flowery Branch High School, 6603 Spout Springs Road, Flowery Branch. Activities include bag pick-up, last-minute registration, prizes and giveaways.

The Color Race raises awareness of a specific cause each year, with this year’s focus on human trafficking. All donations will help prevent human trafficking through race partner Street Grace, according to the website

Runners may check in between 1:30-3 p.m. Saturday in the school’s stadium with the race starting at 3:30 p.m. Runners will loop the course twice, passing six color stations twice to be doused with color powder.

Awards for overall female and male runners and the top two females and males in each age group will be handed out.

Finally, participants may join in the color fight on the field across from the stadium after the race.

Runners should bring a white shirt, sunglasses or goggles and bandana to keep the color out of their mouths.
