The tradition of the Fur Ball fundraiser returns to Jackson County once again, but it will be veiled in Egyptian cloth.

The theme for the seventh annual fundraiser for the Humane Society of Jackson County is Cleocatra with her companion Bark Anthony. With that in mind, guests may come dressed in an Egyptian-themed costume or cocktail attire.

The Fur Ball will be from 6-10 p.m. Saturday, April 8, at the Braselton-Stover Event Center, 5257 Ga. 53, in Braselton.

California Dreaming is catering the buffet dinner while The Way Back Band supplies the music. Other elements of the ball will include dancing, silent auctions, games, surprises, raffles and a floor show.

Tickets are $60 per person. Event co-chairs Jessica Beck and Laura Collier encourage guests to buy tickets now, because space is limited.

Proceeds from the Fur Ball helps the humane society fund its programs such as rescuing homeless animals, pet food assistance, dog therapy, humane education, low cost spay/neuter and the construction on its 31-acre animal campus.
