Believing in the philosophy of art being “more than a picture,” trained architect Christopher Sherry will impart his artistic knowledge in an open-studio style setting.
Sherry will teach a painting open studio class at Quinlan Visual Arts Center, with the first session running Aug. 14 to Sept. 18.
Two time slots are available every Thursday: 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. for intermediate and advanced painters and 1:30-4 p.m. for beginners.
Sherry will also teach two other sessions from Oct. 2 to Nov. 6 and Nov. 20 to Jan. 15 with no classes Nov. 27, Dec. 25 and Jan. 1.
Sherry recently began painting as a career following his career as an architect and faculty member in the interior design program of several local colleges. His two-dimensional work is in oil, acrylic and mixed media while his three-dimensional work is in metal, both foundry work and welding.
