Folk musicians to fiddle around downtown Dahlonega
Wisewater to play and sing Sept. 5 at The Crimson Moon

Kate Lee and Forrest O’Connor are the contemporary folk duo Wisewater. They will perform at 8 p.m. Sept. 5 at The Crimson Moon in downtown Dahlonega.

Critically acclaimed contemporary folk duo Wisewater will sing its original tunes on Labor Day weekend in Dahlonega.

The show will begin at 8 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 5, at The Crimson Moon, 24 N. Park St., Dahlonega.

Tickets are $12 for the cover charge.

Wisewater’s album, The Demonstration, debuted last November and featured five original songs. The album also reached

No. 13 on the iTunes singer-songwriter charts.

Based in Nashville, Wisewater duo includes Kate Lee on vocals and fiddle and Forrest O’Connor on vocals, mandolin and guitar. They have appeared on The Grand Ole Opry several times in the past year and toured across the country, sharing the stage with Emmylou Harris, Ricky Skaggs, John Cowan and Mary Gauthier.

O’Connor, a Harvard University graduate and son of legendary fiddler Mark O’Connor, plays sessions throughout Nashville and won the Tennessee State Mandolin Championship in March. He formed Wisewater with Lee in 2014 after a string arranger in Nashville introduced the two.

Lee graduated from Belmont University and has appeared on the CMA Awards and Christmas Shows for several years, backing up many major entertainers including Rod Stewart, Keith Urban, Brad Paisley and Lady Antebellum.
