Firefighters to ignite explosive display

After the Suches tradition was postponed last week because of rain, the Suches Fire Department’s annual Independence Day fireworks display will light up the sky Saturday, July 13, rain or shine. The fireworks will begin at dark in the field behind the Woody Gap School. The festivities start earlier as the Suches community and visitors gather about 7 p.m. for hot dogs, soft drinks and snacks along with the chance to meet friends, old and new.
