Discuss art with area painter
Paige Harvey will talk about her exhibit “Grounded in Nature: A Survey of Paintings” on display at Quinlan Visual Arts Center from noon to 5 p.m. at the center.

Former Brenau University drawing professor Paige Harvey will spend an afternoon with art enthusiasts at the Quinlan Visual Arts Center.

Harvey, a University of Georgia art graduate, has an exhibit “Grounded in Nature: A Survey of Paintings” on display in the main gallery at the Quinlan until Feb. 15. The exhibit is part of the arts center’s winter exhibitions. Other artists’ work on display include Alex McKibbin and Judy Carpenter.

Harvey will have an informal meet-and-greet with art patrons from noon to 5 p.m. Saturday at the center, 514 Green St., in Gainesville. She will answer questions about her exhibit. Admission is free.

Harvey has said her travels throughout the United States and Africa have inspired her works. A couple of her paintings detail the Oregon coast and the scenery of Ethiopia.

“Most of the art that you see is inspired from a certain journey that I went on in the world,” she said.
