The Sautee Nacoochee Community Association is inviting residents to sit down for a spell and spin a few yarns.
In an effort to gather material for its community story performance, "Headwaters," the group will host a night of storytelling and fellowship.
Folks are invited to come out Jan. 30 to the center on Ga. Highway 255 N. in Sautee Nacoochee and share personal tales during "The Long Winter's Night of Stories."
Participants will gather in story circles from 6-7 p.m. to share stories and then break for dinner immediately after to share even more tales.
The stories will be turned into scripts for "Headwaters," an annual production featuring locally-inspired monologues, scenes and music.
The working title for this year's "Headwaters" is "Didja Hear." The Sautee team is especially interested in gathering stories about what people hear, what they think they hear, what they want to hear and what they don't want to hear.
The storytelling night at the end of the month is free and it also includes dinner, but attendees must RSVP in advance.
