Inspired by her parents’ restoration on a historic doctor’s house and apothecary shop near Athens, Denise Weimer penned a new romantic suspect trilogy.
Centered in Piedmont Georgia, “White,” “Widow” and “Witch” centers on Jennifer Rushmore and her relationship with brooding bachelor Michael Johnson. In story, Rushmore accepts a job to act as coordinator for the restoration of the man’s family’s historic doctor’s house (White), apothecary (Widow) and log cabin (Witch) in a rural Georgia community. Each book features each place she restore along with other tales. These stories contain lessons of heart-healing Johnson and Rushmore need to apply in their own lives.
Weimer said the spiritual focus lies in how only God, the master renovator, can bring wholeness.
The author will be available to sign copies of the first two books, “White” and “Widow,” from 1-4 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 3, at Books-A-Million in Lakeshore Mall at 150 Pearl Nix Parkway in Gainesville. The third installment of the series “Witch” will debut in the spring.
Weimer also authored The Georgia Gold Series books of “Sautee Shadows,” “The Gray Divide and “The Crimson Bloom.” Her book, “Bright as Gold,” won an award for Southern literature.
