The Graffe String Quartet will perform at Piedmont College at 7:30 p.m. March 31 in the chapel at the campus in Demorest.

The group from the Czech Republic will be accompanied by Michiko Otaki on piano.

Since its founding in 1997, the quartet has been awarded the Czech Chamber Music Society Price for most promising young ensemble. It has traveled to various countries in Europe, been featured at many music festivals, and recorded a CD with Michiko Otaki.

The Graffe String Quartet performs pieces by Haydn and Mendelssohn as well as contemporary works. The musicians emphasize Czech composers and will continue to do so at the Piedmont performance.

Tickets are $10 general admission, $5 for seniors and students. Piedmont College students, faculty and staff are admitted free.
