Burt Love greets a friend as he arrives at the 2012 Cracker Fly-In in his Legend Cub Light Sport airplane after a trip from Murphy, N.C.
From monoplanes to biplanes and helicopters to jets, the 45th annual Cracker Fly-In on Saturday would have had something for aircraft enthusiasts, collectors and restorers, young and old — if the weather had permitted. Richard Strickland, event organizer with the Experimental Aircraft Association Chapter 611 told The Times that many of the aircraft and vendors weren't going to be able to fly in because the cloud coverage will not lift in time. The holiday week has seen several inches of rain across the Southeast and thunderstorms postponed or rained out many firework displays in Northeast Georgia.
