A mixture of rock, funk and some soul music will pump through the speakers at the second show of the Summer Concert Series in Cornelia.

The Regulars Band will ride into town to perform for free at 8:30 p.m. Friday, June 26, at Cornelia City Park. The amphitheater is just to the left of the entrance to the park.

Unlike other guitar driven groups, The Regulars are centered around rhythmic piano and the strong soulful vocals of brother and sister, Lee and Lindsey. Douglas Ehlen plays lead electric guitar, Clay Davis plays funky bass and Elliot Phillips bangs it out on the drums.

Formed in 2005, the band has performed at countless venues, colleges and festivals around the country. It has played on numerous radio and nationally televised shows as well as performed with international singer/songwriter Jewel at the Macy’s Tree Lighting. The band also opened for Morris Day and The Time.

The Regulars Band has been fairly regular in Cornelia the past few years and are excited to return.

Spectators are encouraged to bring chairs, blankets and tables to watch the free concert. Or they may reserve a table and chairs for six for $25. Small umbrellas are allowed if room permits but must not block the view of others. Event staff will be on hand to direct tent/umbrella users to proper locations.

Parking is available all through the park and can be found to the right of the driveway entrance, the gravel lot to the left just past the picnic area at the entrance, along the side of the park road near the tennis and basketball courts and in the old swimming pool area below the community house. The Community House parking lot is not open for concert attendees, but additional parking can be found in the Cornelia dog park.

The beverage tent opens at 7:30 p.m. with beer, wine and non-alcoholic beverages available. No outside alcoholic beverages are permitted at the concert but non-alcoholic beverages are allowed. All coolers are subject to search.
