The city of Lula plans to celebrate the locomotive and its era of cutting a trail across the United States with its 39th annual Railroad Days festival. Festivities begin with music, dancing and food vendors from 7-10 p.m. Friday, May 15, at the depot, 5959 Athens St. Saturday’s activities will resume at 8 a.m. with local arts and crafts sold in the train yard. A parade will march through town at 10 a.m. Saturday and travel the length of the old historic downtown railroad tracks.
