The Quinlan Visual Arts Center is calling all artists for a plein air (or open air) painting event in the city of Flowery Branch, in partnership with the LakeView Art Center. All artists are invited to participate; there is no fee for participation.

Painting will occur between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. with a special reception and "Wet Paint Show" competition at 5:30 p.m. at the train depot. Flowery Branch Mayor Mike Miller will choose the winner, whose artwork will be featured on official Flowery Branch note cards. The winning artist will attend a special recognition ceremony during an upcoming council meeting.

"We are excited to team up with a neighboring community to bring an art event into their city. Plein Air artists create their work painting directly from life and we think that the charming backdrop of the city of Flowery Branch will provide the perfect inspiration," said Quinlan Executive Director Amanda McClure.

Flowery Branch City Manager Bill Andrew said the city is "truly excited about partnering with the Quinlan Visual Arts Center and local artists to promote the charm and beauty of Old Town Flowery Branch."
