Car show helps wounded veteran Sean Adams
Funds go toward fishing trip to Alaska

The Big Bear Cafe and The Gainesville Eagles are hosting a car and motorcycle show to benefit veteran Sean Adams.

The show ill be from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, June 20, in front of The Big Bear Cafe, at 893 Main St. SW, in Gainesville. Registration starts at 8 a.m. for those wishing to show off their vehicle..

The goal is to send Adams on an Alaskan fishing trip in July. On Feb. 10, 2012, Adams — a 2011 graduate of Chestatee High School — stepped on an improvised explosive device while serving in the Helmand province of Afghanistan. He lost his legs, and his hands were damaged.

Funded through the support of friends, family and generous donors, the excursion for retired Lance Cpl. Adams was the brainchild of Rick Jones, a fellow military veteran who also suffered serious injuries serving his country.
