A Christmas Open House is scheduled for 1-4 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 1, at the Byron Herbert Reece Farm and Heritage Center in Blairsville.

Visitors will have free admission to all exhibit areas. Refreshments will be provided, and door prizes will be drawn at 2, 3 and 4 p.m.

Georgia author Terry Kay will be present for signings. Kay has won four Georgia Author of the Year awards, the most recent one this year in the short story category for his book, “The Greats of Cuttercane.” His books will be available for purchase, or copies of his books may be brought for him to sign.

The center’s gift and craft shop will feature books by and about Reece and others on subjects pertinent to Appalachia.

The event will mark the Reece Center’s last open day until next April.

The Center is in Union County one mile north of Vogel State Park on U.S. 129.
