The Friends of the Parks Annual Butterfly Release is Sunday at Wilshire Trails Park in Gainesville. The event will be from 1-4 p.m. with the release of the painted lady butterflies scheduled for 3 p.m.
More than 1,500 painted lady butterflies are set to take flight to the delight of hundreds of children Sunday in Gainesville. The 19th annual Friends of the Parks Butterfly Release will be from 1-4 p.m. Sunday, May 17, at Wilshire Trails Park along Pearl Nix Parkway in Gainesville. Admission is free and parking is available at Woods Mill Academy, Centennial Arts Academy and Gainesville High School.
