Big Canoe Artists group takes over Bowen Center for the Arts
Art lovers can look over photographs, glassware and paintings at Dawsonville gallery

The Big Canoe Artists will have their artwork on display from July 29 to Aug. 27 at the Bowen Center for the Arts in Dawsonville. An opening reception will be from 5-7 p.m. Friday, July 29.

Two-dimensional and 3D paintings, glassware and photography from various artists will adorn the walls at the Bowen Center for the Arts for a monthlong exhibit.

The Big Canoe Artists, a 40-member artist club, will display their works from July 29 to Aug. 27 at 334 Ga. 9 North in Dawsonville. An opening reception will be from 5-7 p.m. Friday, July 29. Food, refreshments and music will be on hand to entertain guests.

The Big Canoe Artist Club meets the first Thursday of the month in the lower level of the Broyles Center. The next meeting is 10 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 4. All are welcome.

The Bowen is free and open to the public. Hours are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday through Friday and noon to 4 p.m. Saturday. It is two blocks north of Dawsonville’s Historic Square.
