This is an example of Joyce Clair’s alcohol ink artwork. She will teach a two-hour class using the techniques on ceramic tiles at Helen Arts & Heritage Center.

Have you tried a painting class and made an mistake that ruins your potential piece of artwork? Well, you will not have to worry about that with this new art class.

Artist Joyce Clair will conduct a two-hour class for those with no painting of drawing experience. She will demonstrate painting ceramic tiles with various techniques using alcohol ink.

In the class, students will create colorful ink designs on white glazed ceramic tiles. If not satisfied with the results, just wipe off the ink and start over.

Final designs will be sprayed with a sealer, and students will leave with four coaster tiles of their very own design.

The class will be from 1-3 p.m. Friday, Jan. 29, in the art education studio at Helen Arts & Heritage Center, at 25 Chattahoochee Strasse, in Helen. The fee is $40 plus $10 supply fee.

Students should wear short sleeves and a smock or old shirt since the ink stains. Gloves will be provided.

Free parking available in the rear area of the center.
