The auction committee for Dahlonega’s Bear on the Square Mountain Festival has begun collecting items for this year’s live and silent country auction, set for April 25.
Sherry Moser, co-chairwoman of the auction, said this year’s focus will be handmade items.
“In observance of our festival’s 18th year, we felt that the focus on handmade items fits right in with the mission of our event, which is to celebrate the music, traditional craft and folkways of the Southern Appalachians,” Moser said. “However, while this year’s focus is handmade, we welcome all donations.”
Contributing businesses and individuals are asked to include a brief description of the item and its retail value, and they will receive a receipt for tax purposes. As items are being collected, they will be posted to an online auction catalog which can be accessed at www.bearonthesquare.org.
Moser encourages area businesses, organizations and individuals to begin contributing items for the auction, which is the annual festival’s primary fundraiser. To make a donation, email Moser at firstname.lastname@example.org or call 678-654-1056.
