Singer-songwriter Danny Schmidt is set to perform July 15 at The Crimson Moon, 24 North Park St., Dahlonega.
The show begins at 8 p.m. Tickets are $15 in advance at www.thecrimsonmoon.com, $18 at the door.
Schmidt, of Austin, Texas, was named to the Chicago Tribune’s 50 Most Significant Songwriters in the Last 50 Years. He has amassed a loyal following for his poetic, poignant imagery, drawing comparisons to Leonard Cohen, Townes Van Zandt and Dave Carter.
Sing Out Magazine’s said of him, “Schmidt is a force of nature: a blue moon, a hundred-year flood, an avalanche of a singer-songwriter. His songs are a flood of poetry, mythology, folk wisdom, and surprise. He is perhaps the best new songwriter we’ve heard in the last 15 years.”
