Lisa Q Mount, otherwise known as Auntie Q, and some of her favorite wayward girls (not all of whom are female) will join her for a two-night variety show July 22 and 23 at the Sautee Nacoochee Center.

This curious compendium of talent — local luminaries and national notables — will create one show in two acts. The first act will be at 8:30 p.m. Friday, July 22 and the second act will be at 8:30 p.m. Saturday.

Songs, poems, dances and digressions will take place on the Center theater’s stage at 283 Ga. 255 N in Sautee Nacoochee.

Nationally recognized Knoxville-based writer/director/actor Linda Parris Bailey will bring her perspectives to the show, which may or may not include a reminiscence of the time she and Auntie Q performed on Broadway.

In addition, Celeste Miller, choreographer of the Headwaters series of plays, will offer short performances both nights. And San Antonio’s ST Shimi, burlesque and variety artiste extraordinaire, returns to the stage, too. She was last seen in Late Night Off-Center in  2010, in the midst of fans, sparkly lights, spinning hoops and tiny pieces of clothing.

“There are some fabulous performers and thinkers who have agreed to come to Sautee Nacoochee this summer, to meet up with the amazing people here who love to be onstage and have some wicked smart insights into what’s going on,” Lisa Q Mount said in a news release. “All of this together is an experiment in the alchemy of topical performance. What happens when you combine all these elements?  Magic, for sure.”

Subject matter is suitable for adults only.

Tickets $15 per show and available at www.snca.org. Special bonus points will be awarded to patrons who see both shows.
